Well here we are August 1st and I’m just now blogging some May weddings. Its been a very busy summer for us here at Hales Studio. BUT we’ve been loving every minute of this 2011 wedding season. We’ve had a TON of great couples and wonderful moments during their weddings and I couldn’t be happier with this season.
So on to Brooke and Justin! Their wedding was held at The Lounsbury House in Ridgefield, CT memorial day weekend and it was beautiful. Brooke and Justin are the sweetest couple and we couldn’t have been more happy shooting their wedding. You might remember their super cute vintage movie theatre engagement session that we did.
On to the favorites from the day:

A little penny for good luck!

Jared covered the guys while I spent some time with the girls.

This little guy was the cutest little ring bearer that I’ve ever seen!

Brooke was a little nervous before she put on her dress.

Jared got this great picture of Brooke and her dad before she walked down the isle.

Another great one that Jared got from upstairs.

Brooke and Justin had some beautiful vintage details that I just loved!

Brooke and Justin, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your special day! Congratulations to you both!
We had such a great time and Lauren and Bill’s wedding at The New Haven Lawn Club a few weeks ago. I started out the day covering the girls while Jared met up with the guys.
Lauren and her girls got their hair and make up done by Catie Bane and Lauren Perry of Dana Bartone and Company and they looked fabulous!
Here are some of my favorites of the day!

Jared got this great picture of Bill while he was waiting outside the church.

Jared also go this cute picture of this little guy. I love the sign! The next three pictures are also Jared’s.

A little pre-game coaching by the Maid of Honor.

Another great shot by Jared of the church, so beautiful!

I love shooting at St. Francis Church in Naugatuck, they let you get in the super sneaky spot to take great photos! Jared got this great one below.

After the ceremony we headed to New Haven for some portraits. I just love the color of this gate!

Some of my favorite first dance pictures ever!

Jared got this lovely detail of The New Haven Lawn Club lighting.

Super cute mother and son dance.

Another great picture of Jared’s below!

Lauren and Bill, thanks so much for an awesome time at your wedding! Congratulations to you both!
My sister is having a baby! I’m so excited about this post because it’s for two people that I care about so deeply. My sister and I did everything together growing up and I couldn’t be happier to see her become a mother in a few weeks.
I headed to Pennsylvania while Kate and TJ made it all the way from Texas for the weekend. (Notice the authentic cowboy boots!) We were busy with a baby shower but managed to squeeze in a photoshoot. The light is just so perfect in all of these images I couldn’t have been more happy with them. Hopefully I’ll be heading down to Texas for a newborn session in July!
Here are my favorites from the day. Enjoy!

We found this fence across the street from my Grandmother’s house. I thought it fit nicely with the cowboy boots!

You might remember my friends Nick and Beth were having a baby. Well Jackson finally arrived so we headed down to New Haven to do a little newborn session. Here are a few of my favorites from the day. He sure is cute!

Congratulations Nick and Beth! Can’t wait to see Jackson grow over the years! XOXO
To kick off our first wedding of the season we headed out to Tolland, CT. We had an absolute gorgeous day for a wedding! Christine and Glenn had the reception in their backyard which is always a favorite location for us!
Here are a few of our favorites from the day.

This is not your ordinary horse drawn carriage. These guys were in Amistad and Kate and Leopold just to name a few movies. I just love this picture that Jared got below.

Jared got this great picture below of Christine as they left the church.

Christine and Glenn, Congratulations! We had such a great time at your wedding!
Our very dear friends from college, Nick and Beth, are having a baby! We headed down to New Haven to do a little maternity session not long ago. It was so much fun to see them and to capture such a special time in their lives. (Since this shoot they had their little guy and you will see photos of that coming later.)
Here are some of our favorites from the day!

Nick and Beth, congratulations and here’s to many more years of a great friendship!
I’m so excited about this post because I just love Amanda and Matt! They live in California so getting together for an engagement shoot was a bit tricky to say the least but we managed to squeeze it in! You might recognize Matt from his appearance on Wipeout where he actually WON! It was fun to watch him on the show!
A huge thank you to my trusty assistant Natalie for helping me with this shoot!
So here are my favorites from the day. Enjoy!

Amanda and Matt, I’m looking forward to your wedding in a few weeks!
Celeste and Steve are such a great couple and I’m so excited for their wedding this fall. We headed out to Worthington Pond Farms in Somers, CT for their engagement shoot in early spring. The location was just gorgeous and the day couldn’t have been more perfect. I was laughing through this entire shoot as Steve kept us all in stitches! He is quite the entertainer. Celeste’s twin sister Christina did her makeup for the shoot. She also has her own event planning business. Check out her website!
A huge thank you to my assistant Natalie for coming with me on this shoot!
Now on to the pictures!

Celeste and Steve I can’t wait for your wedding! Its going to be awesome!
When I first met Brooke and Justin they told me of their love for movies and the Beatles. After hearing how much they love movies and watching them together I had this idea for their engagement session. The Fairfield Community Theatre was so gracious to not only let us shoot there they also put their names and wedding date on the marquee! Now that’s service.

After spending some time outside we headed inside to the film room. This was the coolest thing to see. They actually have film and reals that they show the movies on still!

We had the entire place to ourselves and it was AWESOME!

After the theatre we headed over to Las Vetas Lounge, a coffee shop that Brooke and Justin both love. They have old vintage records, a Beatles table and tons of cool vintage decorations.

Thanks Brooke and Justin for a great time in Fairfield. I really enjoyed getting to know you both a little better. I can’t wait for your wedding at the Lounsbury House!
Back in January I was teaming up once again with Danielle Fuller of Beyond the Lens Photography as her second photographer! Make sure you check out her blog post on this wedding here. We started off the year right with Rebecca and Greg’s beautiful and heartfelt wedding at the Lounsbury House.
It was right after a huge snowstorm so it was a cold winter morning as I headed out to meet up with the groomsmen as they were getting ready. This little guy was so cute! He did a great job as the ring bearer.

A little pre-game coaching.

The Lounsbury House was so gorgeous and beautifully decorated.

Rebecca and her sister made her bouquet from door knobs. I loved this idea.

We headed outside for this final shot of the night.

Congratulations Rebecca and Greg!
